BOLD NBA 2nd Half Predictions

By: Sal Pellone

The first half of the NBA season has concluded and it's only right to make super BOLD predictions for the second.

Celtics obtain a big and make the conference championship
The Celtics have been linked to big men like Al Horford, DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Love in trade rumors. If I were to bet on it, they snag Al Horford from the Hawks. With a weak interior, the Celtics can make a serious run with an inside threat. The Hawks have been debating about gutting their team and the Celtics need a big, so it could be a match in Boston. If the Celtics grab one of these big men, they will compete in the Eastern playoffs and meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in the conference championship. All hail Brad Stevens.

Rockets miss the playoffs
The Rockets have underachieved all season after falling to the eventual champions in the conference championship last year. Dwight Howard and Ty Lawson have been rumored to be on the trading block. The chemistry just isn't there. The supporting cast is abysmal. They reacquired Josh Smith for some odd reason. This Rockets team has just been more disappointing than every Adam Sandler movie past 2006.

Kings sneak into the playoffs
Sacramento fans are itching like a heroin junkie to make the playoffs. DeMarcus Cousins is having an MVP-like season and would have a chance to win if it wasn't for that guy on the Warriors that shoots all those threes. This is finally the year the Kings make it and George Karl remains the most hated NBA coach of all time. And I really want an NBA playoff game in Sleep Train Arena, the best arena name.

Bulls miss the playoffs
The Bulls are another disappointment. They had such high hopes entering this season, but haven't lived up to expectations at all. Pau Gasol is rumored to be on the hot seat for the trade deadline, Jimmy Butler is out for a few more weeks, and Derrick Rose...well he isn't the old Derrick Rose. The Eastern Conference as a whole is unexpectedly better than previous years and that just makes the Bulls chances even worse.

Warriors break the Bulls' record
Golden State is having another unreal season and setting all types of records. It's hard not seeing them break the Bulls' 72-10 record back in 1996. The Warriors are already on pace to beating it, sitting at 48-4. Plus, Michael Jordan approved they can break the record, anything Michael says is obliged.

Kobe ends on a high note
The Kobe Bryant farewell tour has almost concluded and the Lakers have no shot of making the playoffs. However, Kobe will squeeze in one more epic performance. I don't know when, but he's going to drop 50+ points one more time and go out how Kobe would want to go out.
